UPCOMING EVENTS
QUIET TIMES ARE ENDED.
Hello friends. Thanks for visiting. I’m pleased to say that I have a new novel coming out in May of 2026. So I’m coming out of the need-to-write shell with some unique events. Please join me and let’s have a great time.
VERMONT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA — In a performance that will include short stories in the MOTH tradition, I’ll be telling a six minute story while the orchestra plays. The theme is “Made in Vermont.” How cool is that?
In Stowe, at 7 p.m, Friday Nov. 14 at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center. For more information, please click here.
In Bellows Falls, at 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 16 at the Bellows Falls Opera House. For more information, please click here.
There are additional performances, without my story but some really good other ones, in other parts of the state. You can learn about them here.
THE BOOK OF A FRIEND — When he passed away, Vermont author Bill Mares was working on an anthology of Vermonters’ ideas about what the state would be like in 2050. His wife, Chris Hadsel, took up the job and honored me by asking me to write the introduction. I’ll be part of two presentations of that book, 2050 — Vermonters Take a Swipe at the Future.
On Nov. 18, I’ll join a few of the book’s contributors at the Town Library in Charlotte, VT at 5 p.m. Quick reads, quicker wit.
On Nov. 25, at 6:30 p.m., the same fun format will come to Phoenix Books in Burlington, VT.
THANKSGIVING DAY — Heh heh this year’s Winter Tale is written and ready. You can find it on the home page of this website. It will be there from Nov. 27 until Jan. 1, 2026. Then it’s gone forever.
WINTER TALE ON STAGE — Once again I have the honor of providing a story to Vermont Stage Company’s touching and funny annual Winter Tale show (Dec. 10-14). Held at Main Street Landing in Burlington, this combination of story and song — plus cider and ginger cookies — always warms the heart. Bring a friend.
